Mitacs Accelerate Program
Would a research project help propel your business? Invest Nova Scotia Business can help make the cost for a post-secondary research project even more affordable for your business.
Nova Scotia businesses looking to solve unique challenges by leveraging post-secondary institute research expertise now have another reason to undertake that next research and development project. Invest Nova Scotia, in partnership with Mitacs, will reduce the cost to your business to access collaborative research from post-secondary institutes and faculty supervisors. Each 15-week research project is awarded $15,000. Approved applicants receive a 15-week internship with a Masters or PhD level student to complete a research project aimed at solving a unique business challenge.
Additional information can be found in the Mitacs Accelerate for Partners (PDF) Hand Out linked here.
How it works
Step 1: Nova Scotia businesses partner with academic researchers to develop a research proposal.
Step 2: Proposals are submitted via a Mitacs Representative.
Step 3: Project costs are covered through combined business, government, and Invest Nova Scotia funding.
