With a research team of sector specialists and access to leading proprietary databases, Invest Nova Scotia's Trade Marketing Intelligence (TMI) service helps Nova Scotia companies access critical market and trade intelligence to help identify export opportunities specific to their products, services, and markets of interest. The service is provided at no cost to eligible Nova Scotia companies and includes:
- One-on-one collaboration with an Invest Nova Scotia Regional Development Advisor to evaluate research required to support your export strategy;
- One-on-one collaboration with the TMI Manager and Strategy & Research team at Invest Nova Scotia to refine your research objectives;
- A detailed report customized to your research needs.
Types of research TMI can assist with:
- Competitor analysis
- Trade regulations, including import and export requirements
- Market characteristics such as demand, size, value, and trends
- Marketing research including trade shows, events, and other promotional mediums
- Industry certifications and standards
The TMI service is available to Nova Scotia companies working with or connected to a Regional Business Development Advisor. Your regional contact will help guide the online application process*.
*Applications will be assessed and prioritized by the TMI Manager in consultation with the Invest Nova Scotia Advisor and the client. The turn-around for approved projects is approximately 4-6 weeks. The following intelligence is outside the scope of the TMI Service: Primary research, sales prospect lists, price lists/models, private company revenues (estimates sometimes available). Note: Business development lists may be provided when lists can be pulled from our databases in accordance with our licensing Agreements and with no additional research required. Such listings cannot be vetted and their accuracy or completeness not guaranteed.

Two-Step Identity Verification
We use two-step verification for our online forms. Each time you apply or submit a claim, you will be asked to:
- Enter your Invest Nova Scotia Customer Number and your associated email address to receive a one-time code
- Enter the one-time code to verify your identity and gain access to the online form
