About Invest Nova Scotia

Invest Nova Scotia is the province’s business development agency. We provide venture capital and start‑up support, scale‑up and export development services, and investment attraction incentives. Our work focuses on six priority sectors: defence and aerospace, energy and cleantech, natural resources, fisheries and agriculture, housing and construction, and AI and the digital economy.

We work with businesses on their opportunities and challenges, and we serve the Nova Scotia public by helping build a stronger and more competitive provincial economy.

Venture Capital and Start-up Support

We work with Nova Scotia entrepreneurs developing new technologies, products, and services. Our support includes acceleration programming, non‑dilutive funding, early‑stage investment, and access to incubation facilities.

This work helps companies move from early‑stage development to commercial activity, contributing to job creation and economic growth in the province.

Scale-up and Export Development

Nova Scotia companies that are ready to expand their operations or enter new markets tap into our programs and services, including market intelligence, sector expertise, and guidance on increasing capacity, improving productivity, and strengthening supply chains.

We also manage industrial lands that provide access to transportation, logistics, and distribution networks for companies that require these assets to grow.

These efforts help businesses increase their competitiveness and broaden their reach outside the province.

Investment Attraction and Business Location Support

We work with companies considering establishing or expanding operations in Nova Scotia. Our team provides information on the business environment, workforce, infrastructure, and priority sectors, as well as support during the site selection and decision-making process.

Attracting new investment brings employment, technology, and economic activity to the province, contributing to broader growth across regions and sectors.
