Start-Ups Selected for Innovacorp's Fall 2020 Sprint Program

Innovacorp received 60 submissions for its latest round of Sprint and, after many hours of reviewing and deliberating, selected nine companies to participate in the program. Congratulations to the start-ups chosen for Innovacorp's 2020 Sprint fall intake.

Each company will receive $25,000 and guidance from seasoned business professionals to tackle those next technical and business milestones.

The goal of Sprint is to find and support high potential, early stage knowledge-based companies, and encourage entrepreneurial activity in the province.

The nine companies are:

Design by Science — Aaron Outhwaite — designbyscience.com ($25,000)
Sustainable materials and machines for the 3D printing of large objects and structures

Electric Owl — Margaret Dron — gardenmanager.com — ($25,000)
Software to help grow food in urban environments and on small-scale farms

Marecomms — Ulaş Güntürkün — marecomms.ca — ($25,000)
Underwater communications system to deliver information using data collected in the ocean

myFlock — James Walsh — myflock.ca — ($25,000)
Technology to reduce risk and operating inefficiencies in the poultry supply chain

Plasma Agricultural Solutions — Lord Abbey, GL Rao, NN Misra — ($25,000)
Treatment to improve seed health and quality

Prosaris Solutions — Colin Sewell — prosaris.ca — ($25,000)
Technology to detect and quantify gas leaks

Symbi Medical — Cameron Sehl, Max Jennings, Devin McArthur, Dr. Sameer Berry — symbimedical.com — ($25,000)
Remote patient monitoring tool for predicting and reducing medical procedure no-shows

Tracker Inventory Systems — Gavin Andrews — trackerinventorysystems.com — ($25,000)
Automated inventory management for seafood and aquaculture producers

VMOpro — Matt Gillis — ($25,000)
Remote physiotherapy solution that enables patients to self-manage injuries at home
