Introducing Nova Scotia’s New Export Brand for Food and Beverage
Wednesday, April 26, 2023
Following consultations with producers and agri-businesses across the province, the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with Invest Nova Scotia, recently developed a new Nova Scotia Food + Beverage brand.
Playing an important role in helping differentiate and promote Nova Scotia food and beverage products at domestic and international trade shows and events, the new brand was launched at FoodEx Japan 2023 in Tokyo, the largest annual food trade show in Asia with more than 2500 companies in attendance from 60 countries and regions around the world.
Behind the brand
The new brand is unique to Nova Scotia and celebrates our most distinctive attributes as a place and as a people.
Learn more about doing business in Nova Scotia’s agri-food sector
Geographically, Nova Scotia is a Small Place that delivers on Big Taste. Our food and beverages offer exceptional local flavour – and it is the people behind the products that make them special. The industry we serve are experts at their craft – and because great things happen in small places, we’re proud to share the tastes of our home with the world.
Supporting our Nova Scotia food and beverage businesses
The new brand provides an easily recognizable and highly adaptable approach to marketing Nova Scotia food and beverages to the world. And because the brand encompasses a wide variety of food and beverages products, it enables Nova Scotia to be consistent with promotion and marketing activities.
With its colourful imagery, the brand helps businesses become recognizable online and at trade events, setting Nova Scotia apart from its marketplace competitors. Over time, national and international buyers will immediately recognize the Nova Scotia Food + Beverage brand – and seek it out as a trusted symbol of our high-quality, safe, and sustainable products.
Using the brand for your export needs

We’d also like to encourage producers and agri-businesses to use the online export directory website that promotes food and beverage products to national and international buyers. To be included in the directory, companies can visit smallplacebigtaste.ca and complete a short survey.
