Meet ConnectNS network member Patrick MacDonald, Warehouse & Process Manager at Zuellig Pharma, Asia Pacific's leading pharmaceutical and healthcare distribution and logistics specialist.
What's your tie to Nova Scotia?
I was born and raised in Antigonish, and continued our family tradition to study at StFX. I also try to make a trip back every summer to relax at our family cottage (“Dog Bay”) in Malignant Cove.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “Nova Scotia”?
Friendly people, the ocean, the seafood, and my favourite – Wheel Pizza.
What do you love most about doing what you do professionally?
I have a passion for travel and have been very fortunate to be given the chance to live and work in four countries across three continents, spending the last eight years in Asia-Pac.
What’s the greatest asset Nova Scotia can offer your industry?
Canada and by extension, Nova Scotia has a well-developed pharmaceutical research and development infrastructure. Research innovation from our local medical institutions is the greatest asset we can offer the industry. Another area which Canada / Nova Scotia excels at is clinical trials and study management.
What do you miss most about Nova Scotia?
The clean air and the ocean.
