SCOTNSCONNECT Building Business Bridges 2017 Networking and Business Development Mission Halifax, Nova Scotia to Edinburgh & Glasgow, Scotland May 6-13, 2017

The Scotland Nova Scotia Business Association is organizing a multi-sector business development and networking mission for Nova Scotian companies and entrepreneurs to meet with Scottish businesses, investors and potential partners and to explore market opportunities in the UK and Europe.

Background: These are challenging times! As never before the need to develop alliances and partnerships to encourage, support and promote entrepreneurs and small business in their respective communities and to encourage growth through the development of new markets is clear.

Collaboration among entrepreneurs can encourage and support meaningful, sustainable economic growth and vibrant businesses.

Coordinated action can result in nurturing, growing and supporting small businesses and international enterprise.

From May 6-13, 2017, Nova Scotian entrepreneurs and company representatives will have the opportunity to participate in a unique business experience in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Program: A rewarding program of networking and business development opportunities and meetings is being finalized. Strategic business development events featuring innovation leaders and players at stimulating venues are being confirmed. This will be an exceptional opportunity to meet potential investors and business partners.

Who should participate? For Nova Scotia based entrepreneurs this multi-sector mission will be of interest to those who wish to grow their companies and are considering entering the UK and European marketplace or expanding their current activity in this market thru possible partnerships with UK companies. Similarly, Scottish entrepreneurs that are considering the North American market will be exposed to opportunities and potential Nova Scotian partners to help support market entry. The mission will be of particular interest to those focused on entrepreneurship and innovation in the following sectors; Energy Renewables; Informatics; Manufacturing, Retail, Food and Beverage, Creative Industries and Tourism.

Travel arrangements: Participants may travel on their own but organizers are confirmimg arrangements to travel as a group direct from Halifax – Glasgow on Saturday, May 6 and return direct Glasgow to Halifax, Saturday, May 13.

Special hotel rates are also being considered for Edinburgh and Glasgow. Companies may be eligible for support with expenses under NSBI’s Export Growth Program.

The Association is pleased to have the encouragement, collaboration and support of some key agencies and organizations including Saint Mary’s University, Sobey School of Business; University of Edinburgh, Business School, Nova Scotia Business Inc., The High Commission of Canada , London and WestJet.
