Weekly Wrap-Up: Innovation, Investment & Global Momentum

This week showcased the depth and momentum of Nova Scotia’s innovation ecosystem, from early-stage biotech breakthroughs to global conversations on where businesses can grow with confidence.

• Advancing bioinnovation: We announced the four start-ups selected for the inaugural 2025–2026 GreenShoots cohort, delivered with our partner Greenspring Bioinnovation Hub. BryoSphere Biotechnologies, Karyotica Labs, Petite Riviere Farming, and Sophie's BioNutrients are tackling complex challenges with bold solution, market-ready solutions.
   
• Scaling industrial biotech: Nova Scotia is emerging as a global leader in industrial biotech, transforming local resources like lobster shells and forestry residues into high-value materials and clean chemicals. Programs like AscendBio, a partnership between Invest Nova Scotia and the Verschuren Centre, help companies scale faster, attract investment, and bring innovation to market.
   
• Global engagement: On the international stage, Nova Scotia was represented at the Conference of Paris (International Economic Forum of the Americas), highlighting the province's stability, competitiveness, and trusted partnerships that support long-term investment.
