Chris Morrissey
President & CEO

Chris Morrissey is a seasoned executive with demonstrated experience in leadership, business development, and project and performance management. Prior to joining Invest Nova Scotia, he was the vice-president of resource management for Acadian Seaplants Ltd, a family-owned, multinational biotech company based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He is also a former executive director of Clean Foundation, the largest non-profit environmental organization in Atlantic Canada. Chris has been a senior executive involved with amateur sport for more than 25 years, including CEO of the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, and worked on bids and business plans for other major events in Canada and abroad such as the Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games.
Chris has an EMBA from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax and has completed undergraduate work from Memorial University in economics and business. He has also completed CommunityShift, a week-long executive leadership development program designed exclusively for C-level leaders of Canadian charities and not-for-profit organizations, founded by KPMG and the Ivey Business School at Western University.
