Tuesday, June 10, 2025

Invest Nova Scotia has approved a business development incentive in the form of an innovation rebate for Twin Rivers Park Ltd. operating as Twin Rivers Home Builders in Granton, Pictou County.

Established in 1978, Twin Rivers Park Ltd. has a long-standing history in residential rentals, with over 30 years of experience in the sector. In 2019, the company expanded into the manufacturing of fabricated homes at its facility in Granton. To further enhance its manufacturing capabilities, Twin Rivers Park Ltd. is investing $897,171 in a building expansion project to include a new 7,000 square foot pre-hung door assembly facility.

The new facility will enable the company to manufacture pre-hung doors in-house from door slabs and mouldings, reducing dependence on external suppliers—a supply chain previously marked by delays and long lead times. The expansion will allow for inventory storage of over 800 door slabs, which require significantly less space than fully assembled doors. By internalizing this aspect of production, the company anticipates improved efficiency, fewer installation-related damages, and reduced waste. This shift is also expected to lower greenhouse gas emissions through decreased reliance on long-distance shipping. With these operational improvements, Twin Rivers Park Ltd. aims to double its production capacity by 2027 and strategically position itself to access new markets in Atlantic Canada, Ontario, and the eastern United States.

The company is eligible to earn a maximum innovation rebate of $221,663 upon completion of its project, based on eligible capital spending of $886,650. To be considered for an innovation rebate, a company’s total project costs must be between $350,000 and $15 million. An approved rebate is up to 25 per cent against eligible project costs.
