The Productivity and Innovation Voucher Program is closed. We are no longer accepting applications.

You can download the Guidelines and FAQ by clicking the link on the sidebar under Related Documents.

The Productivity and Innovation Voucher Program (PIVP) is your path to access post-secondary institution research and resources. It helps small- and medium-sized companies access expertise within post-secondary institutions to improve productivity, develop a new product, service, or process, and grow their business.

Program details

There are two tiers of the PIVP:

Tier 1: Vouchers of up to $15,000 for eligible businesses that have not previously been awarded a voucher or are applying with a new project

Tier 2: Vouchers of up to $25,000 for eligible businesses to build on work already completed through a Tier 1 Voucher

To ensure more Nova Scotia companies can get started on their research initiatives, companies are limited to two Tier 1 vouchers.

Vouchers are used to access services from eligible Service Providers (see list below). Businesses must select a provider and service that best fits their needs.

Important Dates

Applications for the PIVP will be accepted from May 27, 2024, until June 21, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. ADT.

All projects must be completed and claims submitted before March 15, 2025.

Two-Step Identity Verification

We use two-step verification for our online forms. Each time you apply or submit a claim, you will be asked to:

  1. Enter your Invest Nova Scotia Customer Number and your associated email address to receive a one-time code
  2. Enter the one-time code to verify your identity and gain access to the online form

IMPORTANT: If this is your first time applying to a program with Invest Nova Scotia or you don’t know your Customer Number, please contact your Regional Business Development Advisor to request this information.
