Headshot of Morris MacLeod, Senior Corporate Strategist

Morris MacLeod is a Senior Corporate Strategist at Invest Nova Scotia, where he plays a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship and driving regional economic development. His work is centred on activating private capital through the formation and support of regional Angel Groups, which connect local investors with high-growth start-ups. By guiding companies along the full financing spectrum—from angel investments to venture capital and private equity—he helps businesses scale and succeed.

In addition to his work with Angel Groups, Morris is actively involved in tax regulatory reform, advocating for improvements to the Innovation Equity Tax Credit (IETC) and Venture Capital Tax Credit (VCTC). These initiatives aim to create a more favourable investment environment, stimulating private capital at the community level and strengthening Nova Scotia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Morris holds an MBA from Saint Mary’s University and has a diverse professional background spanning government, commercial banking, wealth management, business financing, and venture capital. His broad expertise allows him to bridge the gap between public and private capital, fostering a sustainable and dynamic investment landscape—particularly in rural Nova Scotia.

Outside of work, Morris is a dedicated husband and father of two. A true coffee enthusiast, he also enjoys playing hockey whenever he can.
