EDM Resources Inc. (EDM) is a Canadian critical minerals development company advancing the 100%-owned Scotia Mine, a past-producing zinc, lead and gypsum operation located approximately 60 km northeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Company is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V: EDM) and the OTCQB Venture Market (OTCQB: EDMFF).
Scotia Mine benefits from extensive existing infrastructure, including a modern processing plant, tailings management facilities, grid power, paved highway access and proximity to the Port of Halifax. The project has a long operating history and has recently achieved significant permitting milestones, including amendments to its Industrial Approval and continued advancement of federal Fisheries Act approvals.
The Company is executing a comprehensive project update program that includes an updated Mineral Resource Estimate, a new Preliminary Feasibility Study, mine optimization, environmental and permitting activities, and exploration targeting additional zinc, lead, gypsum and precious metals.
EDM's strategy is to restart Scotia Mine as one of Canada's next critical mineral producers while maximizing value through operational improvements, modern processing technologies and responsible environmental stewardship.
EDM's objective is to become Canada's next zinc producer by leveraging existing infrastructure, modern mine design and strategic investment partnerships to deliver a rapid, capital-efficient restart.
The Scotia Mine Restart Project is a brownfield critical minerals development project focused on restarting zinc and lead production while creating opportunities to monetize significant gypsum and anhydrite resources.
The project has substantial existing infrastructure, including a concentrator, tailings storage facility, administration buildings, maintenance workshops, grid power and transportation infrastructure, significantly reducing development risk and capital requirements compared with a greenfield project.
EDM is currently completing an updated Mineral Resource Estimate and Preliminary Feasibility Study incorporating modern mine planning, improved processing technology, higher throughput, lower operating costs and enhanced environmental performance.
The project is expected to support approximately 150 direct jobs during operations while strengthening Canada's domestic supply of critical minerals required for infrastructure, manufacturing and energy transition applications.
Zinc is designated as a critical mineral by Canada and is essential for galvanizing steel, renewable energy infrastructure and modern manufacturing.
The project has substantially advanced through the provincial and federal permitting process, positioning Scotia Mine among Canada's more advanced near-term critical mineral development opportunities.
Located near Halifax, the project benefits from excellent logistics and access to international shipping through one of Canada's largest Atlantic ports.
EDM is seeking strategic investment partners to support construction financing and project development as the Company advances toward production.
