Company Overview

Melford International Terminal (MIT) is a privately owned infrastructure development company advancing a deep-water, ice-free marine terminal and logistics hub at Middle Melford on Nova Scotia’s Strait of Canso. Headquartered in Halifax and backed by Cyrus Capital Partners and First Nations investment, MIT is positioned to create one of North America’s closest Atlantic gateway ports to Europe and the Suez Canal, providing efficient access to major global trade routes.

The development plan includes a multi-berth marine terminal, an intermodal rail facility connected to Canada’s national rail network, and a large-scale logistics and industrial park. Designed to accommodate some of the world’s largest vessels, the project supports future cargo handling, warehousing, distribution, and value-added industrial activity.

MIT has expanded beyond traditional container operations to serve Canada’s growing offshore and onshore wind energy sectors. The fully permitted greenfield site is suited for manufacturing, assembly, staging, storage, maintenance, and marshalling of renewable energy components. With key approvals secured and strategic assets assembled, MIT continues to attract investor interest while strengthening trade capacity, supply chain resilience, and economic growth across Atlantic Canada.

Investment Opportunity

Melford International Terminal represents a rare, shovel-ready marine infrastructure investment combining deep-water port capacity, rail connectivity, extensive industrial land holdings, and exposure to both global trade and renewable energy growth. The project offers investors participation in a strategically located Atlantic gateway with significant expansion potential and multiple revenue streams across cargo, logistics, industrial development, and energy-sector support services.
