Company Overview

Elemental Clean Fuels (ECF) is a Canadian clean energy infrastructure developer focused on delivering large-scale projects that support decarbonization across aviation, marine transportation, industry, and energy markets. The company develops, finances, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to produce and distribute low-carbon fuels, helping accelerate the transition to cleaner energy systems in Canada and globally.

ECF's leadership team brings extensive experience in major energy infrastructure development, including leadership roles in the development of Cedar LNG, the world's first Indigenous majority-owned LNG export facility currently under construction in British Columbia. Indigenous partnerships and economic reconciliation are central to the company's development model, with projects designed to create long-term economic benefits for communities while supporting Canada's clean energy ambitions.

Backed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and supported by engineering firm Stantec, ECF is advancing more than C$1 billion in clean fuel infrastructure opportunities across Atlantic Canada.

Project Overview

The Atlantic Canada Clean Fuels Project is a large-scale clean energy development that will produce e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) for domestic consumption and export markets. The project is being evaluated at two industrial sites currently under negotiation, including a potential location in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, with site selection focused on access to existing industrial infrastructure and deep-water marine facilities.

Designed to complement ECF's Prince Rupert E-Fuels Project on Canada's west coast, the Atlantic project will help establish a national clean fuels corridor connecting North American, European, and Asian markets. The facility will utilize renewable power, green hydrogen, and biogenic carbon sourced from forestry residues and sustainable forest operations to create low-carbon fuels for aviation and marine transportation sectors.

By leveraging Atlantic Canada's natural resources, industrial capabilities, and export infrastructure, the project aims to position Canada as a global supplier of next-generation low-carbon fuels while supporting regional economic growth, emissions reductions, and long-term energy security.
