Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, in partnership with the Regional Government of Brittany, France, the Ocean Technology Council of Nova Scotia (OTCNS), and the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, invite you to attend Ocean Connect #6 on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM-10:30 AM  AST | 14h00-15h30 CET.

This is the sixth session in a virtual series designed to connect companies in Brittany and Nova Scotia involved in the ocean economy, while strengthening international collaboration between our two regions.

The theme for this session is France–Canada Funding Opportunities & Upcoming Events

Agenda

  • Presentations on the Brittany and Nova Scotia ocean technology ecosystems.
  • Presentations from departments that offer funding programs that foster collaboration in innovation between French and Canadian companies and an overview of some upcoming events relative to the sector.

Please note, the presentations will be conducted in English.

All ocean technology-related companies and organizations from Brittany and Nova Scotia are welcome to attend to learn more about either region and its companies.

Guest speakers

  • Jean Leger, Industrial Technology Advisor, NRC IRAP Atlantic and Nunavut Region. NRC IRAP is Canada’s leading innovation assistance program for SMEs, which includes international initiatives such as Eureka.
  • Mark Burger, Counsellor, Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), Mission of Canada to the EU in Brussels, promotes and facilitates the Horizon Europe program.
  • Carlos Levy is a Research Council Officer at the National Research Council of Canada’s Ocean, Coastal and River Engineering (OCRE) research centre. Based in Ottawa, he acts as a National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon Europe, specifically covering Cluster 4 (Digital, Industry & Space) and Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy & Mobility). Carlos leverages this mandate to connect Canadian innovators with global funding opportunities.
  • Loubna Bentamy, Cheffe de projet, Bretagne Compétitivité / European Enterprise Network (EEN) Ouest, leads and promotes European projects, enabling SMEs to innovate, scale internationally and successfully access European funding and partnerships through the world’s largest business support network.
  • Mathilde Brillu, Expert Technique Innovation, France Canada, Expertise France, promotes and facilitates the In2Novation program.
  • Damien Demoor, CEO & Founder, GREENOV and In2novation program participant. GREENOV is a mission-driven group that develops innovative technologies to reduce the impact of human activities on marine ecosystems.
