Job Opportunity: Director, Investor Services and Lead Generation (Permanent)
Under the direction of the Vice President, Investment Attraction, you’ll play a key leadership role in strengthening Nova Scotia’s investment pipeline and supporting our efforts to attract companies that create high-value jobs in the province. You’ll ensure our Investment Attraction team has the systems, strategies, and insight to manage client relationships effectively and uncover new opportunities for growth.
Investment Attraction is central to our mandate, promoting Nova Scotia’s value proposition, engaging targeted companies, and working with sector and regional partners to help industries expand. In this role, you’ll enhance our ability to engage clients, improve unit performance, and support proactive lead development that helps businesses choose Nova Scotia.
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead the development and delivery of account management frameworks and service standards that ensure a consistent and professional experience for Investment Attraction clients. You’ll guide planning and client review processes while setting clear expectations to support strong performance across the unit.
You’ll also oversee lead-generation strategies for priority sectors, managing a team focused on identifying and cultivating high-potential opportunities. Through cross-department collaboration, you’ll ensure outreach efforts are aligned and strategic. You’ll monitor key metrics, oversee core processes, and leverage our CRM to drive data decision making and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
A master’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in investment attraction, economic development, client services, intergovernmental affairs, or public policy.
You also bring:
- Proven strength in business development and lead-generation strategy
- Ability to think strategically while balancing public interest and private-sector responsiveness
- Experience navigating complex regulatory, political, or interdepartmental environments
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentation skills
- Strong understanding of economic development policy, business-government relations, and investment attraction dynamics
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), data analysis, and reporting
- Strong project management and delivery experience
- Must hold a valid Canadian passport with no travel restrictions.
