Are you an entrepreneur in the life sciences? The Labs can play a key role in your company’s development.

Where entrepreneurship flourishes

Opened in 2011, this state-of-the-art facility gives you an unbeatable competitive edge. As a client, make use of specialized scientific infrastructure unavailable elsewhere in the commercial real estate market. You’ll be connected to the Life Sciences Research Institute and Halifax’s busy knowledge hub: universities, hospitals, the Brain Repair Centre, and the National Research Council – all a stone’s throw away.

The Labs is more than just space and infrastructure. It’s a community. It offers on-site support, flexible leasing, and enhanced credibility. It provides you with everything you need to focus on success – and stay on budget.

New research by the Halifax Partnership has revealed that the majority of funds raised by start-up companies in Halifax over the last five years went to health care and life sciences companies – some US$64 million (C$84.4 million) in fact.

The report said: “Health care and life sciences companies have shown the strongest growth over the last five years in both value and number of funding rounds.”

Client Success

Coloursmith, developer of specialized contact lens filters, moved into The Labs in July.

The opportunity to have our own wet laboratory space is exactly what we need to complete our product, because it is so chemistry-oriented. But beyond that, Innovacorp continues to be an inspiring place to work because, in The Labs, you are right in the medical technology sector of Halifax.
