Sean Balfour is an Investment Analyst at Invest Nova Scotia, where he evaluates and supports early-stage companies in the clean and ocean technology sectors. With a background in engineering, he helps Nova Scotia-based start-ups secure the funding and resources they need to scale.
Before joining Invest Nova Scotia, Sean worked in the energy storage and renewable energy industries, focusing on product design and development. His experience also includes working with solar energy start-ups and hydrogen fuel cell technology, giving him a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the clean tech sector.
Sean is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Chemistry from Queen’s University. With a passion for innovation and sustainability, he is committed to supporting entrepreneurs who are driving the future of clean technology in Nova Scotia.
